Sure, you may have your fights, disagreements, etc.. I am not talking about creating some ‘perfect’ relationship where you never experience conflict or get annoyed by each other. I am talking about a relationship that feels right to the core, that doesn’t have all this ‘stuff’ in it that we really don’t want, but put up with because we think we have to.

I don’t believe the Law of Attraction is complete nonsense. I just believe it’s one piece of a bigger puzzle. It’s like the diet part to the diet and exercise needed if you want to change your body. I do believe in energy. I do believe in the power of visualization, beliefs, and using you entire body as an instrument. This means feeling not just thinking. And I believe if you live in a certain state / or “vibration” good does happen. Yes, there is science behind this. But I believe it because I have experienced it in my own life.


Last year, my relationship ended suddenly. In hindsight, I had fears about abandonment and deservability, and I now see that these were limiting beliefs that colored my reality. Over the past year, I have worked on healing myself from the inside out and am incredibly proud of how I have grown. We still talked every now and then, flirting and reminiscing and catching up. But here recently she told me she has a boyfriend now. Then about a month later she asks me to go to a concert with her and that I can stay with her at her house, which was something I manifested but she still has a boyfriend. I’ve followed the steps of giving her the cold shoulder and making her miss me but how can I do that when she has a boyfriend? My next next question has to do with thinking. I read my scripted visualization and look at my vision board twice a day. It’s really uplifting. I send out heart energy which has worked because the other day she texted me a picture of a few things I’ve given her and that she could never throw them away. My question is, can thinking about her and all the good times we had and thinking about our future together, can that delay results and should I just stick to doing the scripted visualizations and sending heart energy? You are certainly on the right track with what you are doing, and you are certainly lining yourself up for an amazing relationship. That is where a lot of people struggle with LOA in general, and relationships in particular–it can be really hard to feel okay with how things are now when we want them to be different. Feeling okay with being single and feeling that fulfillment with life in the absence of that other person can be a challenge, but it is necessary to let in a GOOD relationship.

Of course, it is possible to make some broad generalizations. For starters, successful people tend to be good at what they do – although, even here, exceptions exist since some business people, for example, have been regarded as highly successful individuals while determinedly leading their companies down the road to ruin. Additionally, successful people are generally not lazy since becoming successful does require you to do something (even if turns out that you’re ultimately not that good at what that something is). I also happen to think – and it’s a controversial point – that a good dose of intelligence (even if it’s not traditional academic intelligence) does help quite a bit.
Beat negativity. Understand that the road to success will not be unending, continual joy. There will be difficulties, setbacks, and moments where you question your commitment. These will occur whether you’re on the right path or the wrong path, so understand that while it might be hard sometimes, you’ll need to make an effort to re-establish and embrace that positivity you felt at the outset of your endeavor.[3]
This type of thing happens because we showed up, desperate, and without clarity about what we really wanted. The same applies to manifesting your Soulmate.  You already know what you DON’T want.  So let’s put the main focus on putting together a list of what you DO WANT that is in alignment with your core values and expresses what you want to experience and share in your new relationship.

What Frequency Are You On: Everything, including yourself, your thoughts and anything else you may or may not want to experience, is pure energy vibrating at different frequencies. The basic premise of the Law of Attraction is that like energy attracts like energy. You attract to yourself that which you are in vibrational harmony with, not that which you long for or even deserve. Your dominant frequency is determined by your dominant mental attitude, which itself is determined by your habitual thoughts and beliefs. Simply put, a positive mental attitude attracts positive experiences and circumstances while a negative mental attitude attracts those conditions that we deem negative or unwanted.

You’re also competing with other people’s intentions – both good and bad. So, be aware that if your desire is in direct conflict with someone else’s stronger desire, the universe will respond accordingly. The Law of Attraction does not give you full and total control of your life, it simply states that like will attract like. You can use this to your advantage by being intentional with your desires, but this isn’t magic.


Focus as often as you can on what you do want rather than on what you don't want. For example, if you are angry or upset about a war/conflict that has been going on, do your best to be 'pro-peace' rather than 'anti-war' - focus on the peace, and the kinds of solutions that you would like to see, instead of whatever it is that you do not like about the situation.
At this point, you may still remain unconvinced that this universal principle — which attracts like to like — still seems interwoven in magic and, therefore, unreal. Perhaps it’s because we’re talking about intangible concepts like thoughts and feelings. At least with gravity, an apple thrown up into the air falls onto the ground. You may not understand it, but you can visibly and immediately experience the effects.
Now that you understand the Law of Attraction, you can harness this power in your own life. A first step would be to test your own habitual thought patterns to see whether you tend toward optimism or pessimism and learn more about changing habitual patterns of thought. The focused intentions (fifteen great ones to choose from) also resonated with me because I agree with the viewpoint of the authors that they are helpful in increasing your personal power. My favorite intention is #1 (on page 244) which is: I am learning to walk the path of peaceful pursuit. I always take joyous action towards my goals, all the while releasing attachment to the outcome. I create a happy life now and draw more and more happiness to me.
Thanks so much..so glad you liked it. Relationships can be tricky because there is so much emotional charge around them. It is easy to get off track, and you are right, going back to information that reminds us of these truths and helps us refocus is one of the best things we can do. The reinforcement is necessary to help us reprogram because essentially that is what we need to do. For me, there are two things. First, is getting into that space of trust and knowing by looking back on past manifestations. We have a tendency to put more trust in the negative ones and then dismiss the positive ones…which is one of our weird quirks. And I do my best to step back from anything that isn’t making me feel good and just go do something else, like read a book or take a walk.
Loved your kindle book! It’s given me hope and most importantly a sense of serenity which I haven’t had since my breakup I’m afraid. Moving on is never as easy as one thinks. People tell you to go out with friends, have fun etc…But how does one go out and “have fun” when all restaurants, bars, lounges, clubs or car radios play music and music is the last thing you even want to listen to when your heart is breaking in a million pieces. So that alone, prevents one from moving on peacefully. But your book…I don’t know, just gives one hope. It is easier (at least for me) to “let go” knowing that getting back with the love of my life is possible. Frankly, moving on with hope, regardless of the result, is so much healthier than without it. So for that alone thanks! Now my question :))… I haven’t see my ex for the past two months. He’s very very reluctant to speak to me, and the very limited email exchanges we have had since the breakup have been cold (on his end) at best, though he does reply everytime. I know he is hurt and dealing with it in his won male way I guess…We are thousands of miles away from each other and I want to manfiest spending christmas together. Is is advisable to manifest a certain date? Does that give it more power, or takes away from manifestation? I dont’ want to be obsessive about it, I want to be easy about it, but I must say that this Xmas was supposed to be special for us and I would love for that to be the case eventough it is around the corner. 1) I have had a rather bad break-up with my boyfriend. All in all, he wants to move on completely and says that while he loved me and cared about me at the time of the break-up he simply wasn’t happy anymore and wants to move on to a new city, life etc… We have so financial dealings together but he says he no longer wants to worry about it because keeping in touch about cash isn’t healthy and we both need to move on. He has made it clear that there is no way he would get back into a relationship with me. And of course, after being told this I wrote him an angry email giving him a piece of my mind. While I love him more than life itself and visualize us being together again I must say that I find it very difficult to imagine us together, based on the way he seems to feel (or not feel…) about me. How do I let go of thinking of the outcome when all I can do is think about him and that perhaps he will meet someone else soon, or already has etc….

Changing Your Frequency: To consciously attract that which you choose into your life you must learn to bring the energy of your thoughts and hence your actions into vibrational harmony with the essence of your choice, be it perfect health, success, abundance, true love or anything else. Creative visualization is the basic technique by which you can positively and effectively reprogramme your subconscious mind and so begin to attract to yourself those things and circumstances that you consciously choose.
Hi JG – I’m glad you’re enjoying my book on attracting a specific person! Detachment will come with time. Don’t worry so much about whether you’re doing things right. The Law of Attraction isn’t about perfection. Also, as I discuss in the book, focus on doing things that make you happy. It’ll be far more effective than trying to cover the doubts up with affirmations.
13) Placebo Effect: Placebos are inactive, ineffective substances to which a positive effect has been attributed. The greater your expectations and beliefs that something will be effective, the greater chance it has of creating a positive response. The mind is a powerful tool. We can increase or decrease our heart rate and blood pressure through visualization. A few individuals using a LOA have a firm belief that it will work and so it does. People tend to have more success with the LOA for smaller items for which they did not make a vision board; finding money on the street, getting a check in the mail, hearing from a long lost friend, etc. Is a belief in a law of attraction any better than rubbing a rabbit’s foot, tossing a coin in the fountain, or pulling apart a wishbone? Test it yourself, the answer is no!
Specifically, you attract love with people who are aligned with your vibrational state. So if you are down on yourself or lack confidence, you often find love only with people who treat you poorly and fail to recognize your worth. Therefore, looking for love with real intention requires you to form a deeper, more profound and accepting connection with yourself.
The analogy is simple: if you’re carrying a passenger in your car, there won’t be room for your Soulmate to sit in it!  So, if you’re still in love with this person, but you know that they are not your soul mate and/or there is no possibility of a true, loving, committed relationship with them, it’s time to let them go.   This does not mean you have to stop loving them. It simply means that you have to find a new space in your heart for them, a special chamber where you will put all the people whom you have loved in the past.

These are age-old adages. Sure to last generations upon generations to come. But, I wasn't just interested in his words. I was also keenly interested in his students. In fact, one in particular. Kevin Harrington, which many know from Shark Tank fame, is by far one of Ziglar's most successful students. While Ziglar mentored many, Harrington has taken that knowledge and created a proverbial empire with it.


Creating a vision board is easy. Go through magazines or search the internet to find images that represent what you want to attract. It doesn’t matter if the images are metaphorical or literal. The important thing is that the images speak to you and connect with your desires. Attach the images to a board and place it in a prominent place where you will look at it every day.
Unfortunately, we are not so great at naturally going to a happy place. But, with a strong intention, and some practice focusing, it is not as hard as you think. And, it’s okay if you don’t feel good every single second-you will still have your moments. The key is building up that momentum behind the good energy so that it starts becoming the predominant force.

Now, suppose that you begin to get clear about the kind of person that your soulmate is.  And you decide he or she is Abundant, Affectionate, Ambitious, Beautiful, Caring, Charismatic, Considerate, Creative, and so forth. Now, imagine that this person – who possess all of these wonderful qualities – was simultaneously looking back at you and secretly seeing you the way that you are right now, do you think that they would be proud of what they were seeing?  Would they be interested in hanging out with you, in dating you?  Chances are, the answer is no.
 I remember a woman with a learning disability who kept talking her way into jobs that she then failed at until she finally rose to prominence in a cosmetics company. Every successful author has gone through a prolonged period of rejection after rejection. Many of the greatest Presidents have failed at previous endeavors or been defeated in previous campaigns. These include Grant, Lincoln and even Washington.
When I tell people that this is what it really means to believe in a law of attraction, they don't believe me. They say, that's ridiculous. We don't control everything in the universe. But you are a perfect example of the negative, blame the victim side of the LOA. I understand, appreciate, and respect that maintaining this perspective is consistent with your beliefs in the LOA. My personal belief is that this is not healthy for you, others with whom you connect, or for society in general.
Since the brain is Velcro for negative experiences, it is natural that we worry so much. It's just the brain's tendency. Keep a worry list for 2 weeks. The minute you start to worry write it down. This not only helps release the heavy energy that often keeps us stuck, but at the end of 2 weeks you will notice none of the worries were warranted. Your brain will have proof that worry is a waste of energy.
I was fortunate enough to have been given this book by the Author himself when I was a teenager back in the late 80's. I still read it as it is full of wisdom and speaks a truth that anyone-of any age or religion- can understand. I have even wondered if later works like "The Secret" and "Conversations With God" were copied from this original (written in 1965). It's a timeless spiritual guide that should be kept , read and re-read. Mr. Allen was a kind and helpful man. He seemed to live the life he writes so pointedly of. Perhaps he had been chosen as a messenger to write such an insightful and powerful little book? It's one of my staples and I highly recommend it.

Deep down, I know there will be more chances for me out there and therefore, I will meet the love of my life but my brain tells me that I shouldn’t have done that. When Christians talk about abundant life in Christ, they share some common beliefs and have points where their ideas diverge, as a Wikipedia article attests! But Scripture is clear that our new life is a reality. Second Corinthians 5:17 talks about this life when it says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. Old things have passed away and new things have come.” And Jesus calls that life "abundant" in John 10:10.
And this shows you are on the right path, but all too often we twist it. We lament those people that share the same interests as us, or with whom we had those great conversations, didn’t ask for our number. We feel bummed when that date we thought would be so great, turned out to be not the best match. We think we are still not getting what we want, or there is still something ‘wrong’ with us.
When you do find yourself meeting with someone, don’t pin all your hopes on this person being the ‘one.’ You really don’t even know him yet, and you have no idea if this person is really compatible with you, or is the type of person you would want to be with over the long-term. Sure, you can be excited, and look forward to it, but release any expectation around how things will play out. Work on getting yourself into a state of ‘surrender’ where you just accept what happens as it happens, knowing all the while, what you want is coming, even if you have no idea how that looks right now.
The Law of Attraction is one of the better known universal laws. The theory behind the Law of Attraction is that we create our own realities. You have no idea the million different ways you can meet someone. Sure, it may be through the typical avenues, like a mutual friend or a blind date. Or, it could happen in the most unexpected, and craziest of ways—the type of situation that makes a great ‘how we met’ story. So, do your best to stop trying to figure out how you would meet this person. Don’t look at the current framework of your life as some sort of filter through which you sift possibilities.

11) Blame the Victim:  The only reason that anything bad could ever happen to you is because you were thinking bad thoughts. If someone rear-ends you in a car – 100% your fault. If you get breast cancer – 100% your fault (not genetics). If you get raped or abused – 100% your fault. Children getting killed by terrorists, sick babies in the intensive care unit, victims of floods, hurricanes, natural disasters, the Holocaust – yes, their fault. We all know deep inside that this is ridiculous to even suggest. However, it is a basic, fundamental premise of the LOA. You NEVER attract something you are not thinking about. When anything bad happens to anyone, they are to blame. Don’t feel sorry for anyone who has cancer or a disease or starving children in poverty, they brought it on themselves. What causes obesity? Slow metabolism? No, fat thoughts.  From LOA experts, “Disease cannot live in a body that’s in a healthy emotional state.” (Bob Proctor).  “You cannot catch anything unless you think you can, and thinking you can is inviting it to you with your thought.” (From The Secret). “Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results. Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some direction.” (James Allen). “If man will think only thoughts of perfect health, he can cause within himself the functioning of perfect health…” (Wallace Wattles). “Every individual creates every aspect of their experiences – we are in complete control of our health throughout our entire lives. There are no accidents.” (Esther Hicks).
